Working to restore nature, improve access and unlock the full potential of England's connected coast.
Unlocking the potential of our coast
Coastal Wildbelt is unlocking the enormous potential of England's coastline, creating one connected coastal space where nature, people and places can thrive.
Our vision is simple: We want nature to thrive, communities to prosper and more people to experience, enjoy and benefit from our wonderful coast.
We are bringing together people, organisations and communities from across the country to deliver ambitious, pioneering projects that restore habitats, inspire action and attract the investment our coastline needs for the future.

What is the coastal wildbelt?
From our cliffs and beaches to our coastal towns and working rural and industrial coastlines, the coastal wildbelt is the space where land meets sea around England's coast.
Stretching up to 1km inland from low tide, this connected coastal corridor has the potential to restore natural habitats at scale, improve access for people who want to use and enjoy this land, strengthen biodiversity and climate resilience and help coastal communities thrive.
It is a space where people, places and nature come together – celebrating our coastal heritage, strengthening pride in place and creating new opportunities for future generations.
The King Charles III England Coast Path and the wildbelt
The King Charles III England Coast Path, launched in 2026, runs around the entire coast of England, opening up our coastline for everyone to explore, experience and enjoy.
As the longest waymarked coastal trail in the world, it creates new opportunities for people to connect with the coast and discover the remarkable rural and industrial landscapes, where wildlife, heritage and communities make it unique.
At the heart of this Wildbelt, the path does far more than provide access. It helps unlock the full potential of this connected coastal space – creating opportunities to restore nature, strengthen communities and inspire more people to value and care for our coast.
A new way of seeing our coast
A once-in-a-generation opportunity
For the first time, England’s entire coastline can be seen as one connected landscape, and with the completion of the King Charles III England Coast Path, this amazing space is now open to ALL! This creates a unique opportunity to rethink how the coast works for people and nature together – as a shared space where people can work, explore and have fun and where nature has the space to flourish.
